The 2024 Golden Globes might be over but the comments and backlash surrounding the host of the evening continue to spark major debate online.
According to reports from local media outlets, celeb host Jo Koy received intense criticism for his poor hosting skills and low-blow jokes, with many finding his performance for the evening ‘boring’ and ‘not up to the mark’.
On the other hand, renowned host from ‘The View’, Whoopi Goldberg begged to disagree and is now in the hot seat for her comments on how he did a great job, despite her not even watching the show.
The celeb came under fire for defending Jo Koy and adding that he’s the best in the business. She also felt it was brutal to host such a grand event to begin with, not to mention the intense pressure that comes with it.
“It’s a tiring and relentless job and somebody has to step up to the plate. Therefore, it’s time we stop bashing some people and work toward supporting them as that’s more important”- she continued.
But not everyone agreed. From calling out Taylor Swift’s love story with Travis Kelce to taking a jab at the Royal family as well, this host was out to get leading personalities, no matter what the consequences could be.
And while Goldberg felt he was the best, others thought he served as the worst host ever hired in Golden Globes history and that again had plenty of people talking.
