Dozens of students were seen storming out of Duke University’s commencement ceremony as a result of a protest conducted regarding guest speaker Jerry Seinfeld.
He was seen showing support for Israel since the start of the attacks that arose on October 7 by Hamas and that is said to have been the main instigating event for a war in Gaza.
The 70-year-old comedian was left red in the fast as this was a moment where he was being bestowed with an honorary degree. But little did he or anyone else realize that this would be the outcome of his visit to the graduating ceremony.
The comedian was met with all sorts of mixed reactions including boos and cheers before he made his way on stage.
But that’s not all. There were students present who were seen carrying flags and chanting slogans including free Palestine where they marched out of the Wallace Wade Stadium.
This was said to be a part of the antiwar protests which grip universities across the country with flyers speaking about the war and atrocities taking place and people turning a blind eye against it all.
Seinfeld has made it very clear that he is on the side of Israel and he even went forward to visit the nation and console the families of hostage victims in the aftermath of the attack that killed 1200 while 252 were abducted.
