Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted boarding her private jet and returning home to Los Angeles after winning her lengthy legal battle over a 2016 ski crash.
On Thursday, the jury at a Utah courthouse found that Paltrow was not liable in the 2016 Utah ski resort crash after 76-year-old optometrist Terry Sanderson accused the Hollywood actress of plowing into him and demanded a compensation of $300,000.
After the jury’s verdict – which was reached after just two hours and twenty minutes of deliberations – Paltrow spoke out to share her satisfaction with the outcome before taking to the skies and returning to LA, California.
The 50-year-old was spotted boarding her jet at a private jet terminal in Salt Lake City, Utah, while accompanied by her bodyguard and her assistant.
Paltrow’s return home comes after a somewhat bizarre 8-day trial.
Throughout her visit to Utah, the actress remained holed up in a luxury rented villa in Park City’s exclusive community of Colony at White Pine Canyon.
After the verdict, Paltrow issued a statement saying she felt the urge to fight back because she needed to clear her name.
“I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity. I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case,” she said.
Speaking out was also her attorney, Stephen Owens, who said: “We’re pleased with the outcome and appreciate the judge and jury’s consideration. Gwyneth has a history of standing up for what’s right and this situation is no different. She will continue to stand up for what’s right.”
