Gwyneth Paltrow Says Having Children RUINS Relationships Because It’s ‘Very Hard’


Gwyneth Paltrow has spoken out in a candid interview in which she claimed that having kids can ruin relationships.

The 50-year-old actress, who is also a mother to 16-year-old Moses and 18-year-old Apple, appeared on the Goop podcast to have an honest chat with Katy Perry.

Speaking of the influence that kids can have on a marriage, the Shakespeare in Love star admitted that being a parent is very hard and that parenthood ruins relationships.

“It’s hard on a relationship. Like I’ve looked back now on like the data set of parents with young kids,” she said.

“It just… ruins the relationship. It’s really hard!”

While Perry, who shares a daughter with Hollywood star Orlando Bloom, appeared to agree, she added that it’s up to both parents to contribute to raising children and make the experience easier for each other.

“I think if both people in the relationship are willing to do the work then it’s going to be so much easier,” the singer countered.

“But if one person thinks they don’t have any work to do then it’s going to be really challenging.”

While Paltrow didn’t hold back on her thoughts, she also admitted that she never again felt lonely after welcoming Apple and Moses into her family.

“I never felt lonely again after I had her [Apple]… and I had felt profoundly lonely in my life,” the actress added.

The candid interview comes nearly a decade after Paltrow split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin whom she was married to for ten years.

Following her broken marriage, the movie star began dating Brad Falchuk whom she married back in 2018.
