It is believed to be a miracle for one passenger jet who managed to land safely despite being brutally battered by a serious hail storm.
According to reports from local media outlets, the jet landed blindly thanks to the expertise and bravery shown by the pilots aboard this Austrian airline.
The plane’s front portion was completely destroyed by hailstones that even managed to smash the cockpit’s windscreen.
The Airbus A320 was believed to be traveling from Mallorca to Vienna when all of a sudden, huge chunks of ice struck the plane and its front windows.
The pilot explained how he had zero vision due to shattered glass at the front and therefore landed blindly.
The exact magnitude of the damage was explained after landing where experts claim the jet really managed a narrow escape.
The jet had taken off from Palma at about 3:30 pm in the afternoon and the early stages of that flight were said to be very uneventful as there was constant turbulence rocking passengers back and forth.
But as per the airline, the aircraft threw a giant thunderstorm cell as it arrived near Vienna and that was thirty minutes before it was believed to have made a hard landing.
