President Joe Biden has opted to step out of the running for the upcoming US elections.
Biden issued a statement in public where he confirmed that he would be exiting the race as that was in the party’s best interest.
But at the same time, he did not feel shy to nominate and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the next best choice for the Democratic party and the country.
The news comes four months before election day arrives and also gives rise to some frantic steps for the Democratic party to have tickets ready to combat Donald Trump who has become a strange candidate after his recent assassination attempt.
Biden mentioned through the X app how he offered full support to Harris and wished her the best of luck for the future. He also told the party to come together and beat Trump.
Many other celebs applauded the president’s decision including Bill and Hillary Clinton but no endorsement was seen on the part of Barrack Obama.
Harris is said to be honored to be given this endorsement and ensured the country would be in the best of hands. The party has reminded the country to vote for change, keeping in mind the past.
While Harris is certainly the President’s likely nominee, there is no guarantee until delegates end up voting at the convention in the next month to make a final and formal candidate nomination.
