Harrison Ford was pictured flying his private jet to pick up his mother-in-law before attending his wife’s birthday party.
The 80-year-old Indiana Jones actor was caught on camera after taking off from New York and flying his jet to Los Angeles. On the way to his wife Calista Flockhart’s 58th birthday bash, the actor and aviation enthusiast also picked up his mother-in-law in Tennessee.
After landing in Los Angeles, the Hollywood legend parked his jet and helped his wife and his mother-in-law get off the plane.
Before exiting the aircraft, Ford was pictured steering the plane from the cockpit and receiving orders from the air control via a headset.
For the special occasion, the actor dressed casually in dark blue jeans and a light blue shirt.
Shortly after the trio landed in LA, they were picked up by an SUV and taken to the location of the birthday party.
It appears that Ford has finally mastered his aviation skills after numerous mishaps in the air nearly put him off from flying for good.
In 1999, the actor was involved in a helicopter crash after a routine training flight went wrong. He and his pilot instructor were not seriously hurt.
Years later, in 2015, the actor was forced to make an emergency landing after the World War II-era plane he was flying in Venice, California, suffered an engine failure. During the landing, Ford broke his ankle and pelvis on top of other injuries.
Just two years later, in 2017, the actor accidentally flew too low over an airliner with more than a hundred people on board after mistaking the jet’s runway for the parallel one he was supposed to land on.
Nowadays, Ford has a private collection of many cars, motorcycles, and planes. Out of his ten aircraft, the $18.8 million Citation Sovereign jet he flew to Los Angeles is believed to be his most prized possession.
