Prince Harry was left feeling upset following an alleged secret meeting with his estranged father Prince Charles, royal expert claims.
While it was previously reported that Harry got a 15-minute meeting with the Queen as he and his wife Meghan returned to the UK to attend Platinum Jubilee celebrations, some reports suggest the couple also held a secret meeting with Prince Charles.
According to Royal author and journalist Christopher Anderson, Meghan and Harry sought to mend the rift between them and Prince Charles during a meeting that allegedly turned out to be “perfunctory” and unproductive.
As Anderson suggested, Prince Harry was likely left feeling upset that there were no “touchy-feely vibes coming back in his direction” from his father during their alleged get-together.
“We saw some reports that Meghan and Harry were seen leaving Charles’ home. Is there any truth to that? Do we know what they talked about? And did it maybe move us towards healing any of these rifts?” Royally Us host Christine Ross asked the royal commentator.
Responding, Anderson said: “Well, I understand that it was a perfunctory meeting and that there was no real breakthrough.
“And I have a feeling that Prince Harry definitely went there hoping for some sort of rapprochement but there were no touchy-feely vibes coming back in his direction.”
The author went on to suggest that Princess Diana would be “heartbroken” by the rift between her husband and their son if she was still alive.
“So, I think the curtain has come down. And one of the things I think is so sad about this is Diana, were she alive today, would be heartbroken by this,” Anderson added.
“She would have understood why Harry would have wanted to make his own life and wanted to go to California. But she always saw Harry as, you know, as Williams’ wingman. She always said: ‘My boys are my revenge.’
“And what she meant by that was that as a team they would go on and carry the monarchy forward into a more modern era.”
