The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s controversial Netflix docuseries has been pushed back into next year, leaving their fans disappointed.
According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanted to make significant changes to their documentary following the death of the beloved Queen.
US website Deadline has reported that the expected airing of the series will be next year.
A source told the news outlet: “They’re rattled at Netflix, and they blinked first and decided to postpone the documentary.”
Harry and Meghan’s documentary didn’t have an official release date but many sources revealed that it was set to drop this year.
But it was recently claimed that there were some problems with the program as producers said that the couple’s statements contradicted what the Duke wrote in his highly-anticipated memoir.
The news about the delay comes after John Major, the former Prime Minister of the UK, slammed The Crown that shows King Charles III, then Prince of Wales, complaining about having to take over the throne.
But a spokesperson for Netflix explained: “Series five is a fictional dramatization, imagining what could have happened behind closed doors during a significant decade for the royal family – one that has already been scrutinized and well-documented by journalists, biographers and historians.”
The scene could be construed as specifically disrespectful and Mr. Major claims the conversation never happened, describing it as a ‘malicious nonsense.’
Netflix told the outlet that “there’s never been any documentary from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed.”
One person commented: “Really looking forward to watching all the Sussexes documentaries.”
Another wrote: “Delayed because of the Queen’s funeral which also delayed the restart of Meghan’s podcast amongst other things they had planned many months ago.”
