The rapport between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seemed to have been ‘broken’ as they appeared at the Invictus Games in The Netherlands, a body language expert claims.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first joint trip outside the US since they stepped down from their royal duties in March 2020.
The Sussexes spoke to the Ukrainian team before the official opening of the Games.
In some photos, the duke could be seen appearing ‘more flushed, tired and downbeat’ while the duchess seemed happier, UK body language expert and psychotherapist Nick Davies said.
He also noted that their difference in expressions showed a “clear disparity with their moods,” which he described as “odd for couples deeply in love, as they naturally match with their partners.”
Speaking to the Daily Star, Mr. Davies said: “On this day, a rapport appears to have been broken between the two, with Megan appearing to be more satisfied with the resolution of whatever happened behind closed doors.”
“The honeymoon period normally ends around 18 months, so this will be over, but they may also be experiencing some differences around their core values to create a rapport shift like this perhaps.”
Before going to The Netherlands, the couple visited the Queen for the first time in two years.
They also had a meeting with Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall in their visit to Windsor Castle but they weren’t able to see the Cambridges as Prince William, Kate, and their children were on a skiing trip.
Senior royal sources described the meetings as “incredibly warm and good natured” and “very cordial,” with Harry and Meghan promising the Queen she will get to see grandchildren Archie and Lilibet “in the near future.”
