A pub in London went viral after launching Harry’s Bitter, a beer that is as “weak as its namesake” according to the patrons.
Harry and Meghan have been facing scrutiny across the globe after lashing out at the monarchy and the media in their $100 million Netflix original series.
In the show that has been branded as highly one-sided, the couple accused over half of Britons of racism while drawing a reference to Brexit. Harry further insisted there was a “huge level of unconscious bias” running in his family.
The couple also didn’t fail to take a jab at the Queen’s Commonwealth legacy by branding it as Empire 2.0.
In response to Harry’s “whining,” one London pub introduced a new beer line called Harry’s Bitter. The “weak” beer contains 3.9% alcohol and comes from a tap featuring Harry’s portrait.
According to The Green King pub, they were selling the bitter and weak beer before Harry and Meghan’s Netflix deal. After hearing what the prince had to say, however, they decided to rename the alcoholic drink.
As one happy patron said, the beer is “as weak as its namesake” and serves as a “beautifully British riposte to Harry and Meghan’s self-pitying Netflix show.”
Soon enough, social media users also saw the funny side of the pub’s new offer and applauded the owners for standing up for the Royal Family with a “perfect response” to Harry’s “whining.”
“Next up, Harry’s W(h)ine, made with sour grapes,” someone joked.
“Oh, that did make me laugh out loud! Just brilliant,” another said.
A third wrote: “One of those things that makes us British, great humor.”
