Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are being slammed as disaster tourists after appearing for a volunteering session during the Los Angeles wildfires.
The pair were blasted for using this time of need as a photo op as they were spotted wearing plain clothes and speaking with victims and a whole list of other helpers.
The former working royals had shocking footage featuring them at an evacuation center where they laughed and talked to victims. Many were keenly interested in meeting the pair while others asked for selfies and pictures and the pair chose to oblige.
Among those criticizing the pair was Justine Bateman who felt the pair were no better than ambulance chasers. ‘What a repulsive photo op they achieved. Are they touring the damage or are they acting like they are politicians of the state now?’- the star ranted online.
Others were shocked to see them make their way as they don’t live here and therefore would come under the category of being a tourist.
The video captured showed the exact moment when Harry and Meghan mingled with volunteers and the city’s mayor. They tried their best to provide support to whomever they could. But not too many people were convinced as Meghan’s Netflix show is coming soon and therefore it might be a great publicity stunt, some felt.
