45-year-old leading celebrity host, Maria Menounos is sharing a shocking health update with the world and how she was almost killed thanks to negligence from doctors.
The star says that doctors missed out on her cancer diagnosis and that led to the tumor nearly doubling in size.
Maria spoke about how she was feeling ill for a while and she obviously felt it was time to go to the doctor. Her symptoms were getting on the verge of being extreme and she was just having a tough time with it all.
But little was she aware of the horror that was about to unfold in her life, changing it forever.
The 45-year-old started to detail more about how she was generally fine but her crippling diarrhea was really starting to get the best of her.
Doctors did advise her a scan but guess what, it came out to be negative. This happened last year in November. She was glad at that moment in time that she happened to be worried for no reason.
But wait, more horror was about to unfold because her main tumor was missed. And she as well as her team of medical experts had zero clue.
Maria says she was extra scared because she happened to be pregnant. And that meant not taking any risks at all. With time, her situation started to get worse and she again went to the hospital.
This is when she was told to undergo a full scan MRI and the terrifying diagnosis of cancer was unveiled. The tumor was missed and that was just mortifying. The tumor became double the size of what it was before. And all sorts of negative thoughts started to come into her mind.
Her doctors were shocked and confused and went back to her previous medical records of November. And yes, the tumor was very much there and evident but it just so unfortunately happened that they ‘missed it’.
She started to undergo therapy for stage two pancreatic cancer. Hence, her gut instinct told her that something was wrong and she just wishes that she listened to it sooner.
Today, the star is undergoing her non-invasive treatment and hopes to fight back until she is totally fine. Thankfully, it did not reach the stage of spread and she’s grateful for that.
