Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has reportedly slammed the great amount of interest and attention that surrounds the current Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The renowned striker could be seen calling the ongoing conflict a very grim and racist issue because he strongly feels that there are so many other conflicts that have taken place in the recent past and are still continuing on today, yet no one appears to be highlighting them.
Last month, Russian President Vladimir Putin opted to invade Ukraine via a special military operation that is still continuing today.
The world has reportedly been rocked by constant devastating images of the mass destruction taking place that has claimed the lives of so many innocent civilians who are trying hard to defend their land and are being killed in the process.
With the war entering its fourth week, many did not believe or expect it to last this long.
Bellerin who happens to be a part of the Spanish soccer team Real Betis has now begun questioning why so many nations continue to remain silent on other issues of the world.
“While you focus hard on the ongoing war, would you like to explain why you happen to have turned a blind eye on all the previous conflicts?”- he added.
In particular, the leading soccer star highlighted how sad it was to see so many forget about the war in Palestine, which he felt has been silenced for so long as no one prefers to talk about it.
“I don’t know why or what the reason may be. Perhaps it has to do with how it could potentially affect us all economically or maybe in terms of refugees. But we need to raise our voice more so the people of Palestine are not forgotten during this testing time”- he continued.
