An inquest into the death of three premature babies who were given contaminated feed by the hospitals heard how one of the mothers called it the worst experience that any parent could ever have.
The little kids named in the court documents passed away after the hospital gave them contaminated feeds and that led to their instant deaths.
They had the nutrients entering their bloodstream directly. It was called Total Parenteral Nutrition TPN and it became infected.
One of the kids named Yousef was just nine years old when he passed away from the Bacillus cereus bacteria infecting his TPN feed.
Speaking about the details of the loss, the mother explained to the inquest how it was a nightmare for anyone to deal with something else. She hopes and prays that no one has to ever go through what she did in this journey with the hospital.
‘I was told that there was nothing we could do for our child. At that point, I told them to stop what they were doing and I wished to have all of this pain end’- she continued to mention while crying.
The incident has opened the eyes of many parents who blindly require hospital feeds for their premature kids as it’s said to be a great source of nutrition but without any checks and balances things can go from bad to worse as seen here.
