A hero woman has been acknowledged for her bravery after she saved fifty bulldogs in the warzone area of Ukraine.
53-year-old Olena Lukash, who is a dog breeder from Ukraine, reportedly made headlines when she chose to flee her war-torn nation but simply couldn’t leave the French bulldogs behind.
Now, she is being hailed as a ‘superwoman’ that is saving ‘four-legged children’ whom she claims she can’t live without.
At first, she managed to rescue 25 dogs while her own car came in the line of fire, while trying to make a quick escape as Russian bombs were flying in from above.
But if you think that would deter her from taking another round for her pups, think again.
She reportedly went back a second time around and managed to rescue at least 25 more, despite being in the center of the warzone.
“These are defenseless animals and I know they couldn’t be left alone”- she explained in a heartbreaking tone.
At the moment, she is in Poland with her husband and her pups as a recent photo shows the family squeezed together in one place.
“I never could believe that a war could start in my own home country until the Russian shells began to bombard the area near my home on February 24,”- she stated.
But it was soon evident to her that she would have no other choice but to save those pups while making her way towards Poland.
The couple and the pups took nearly four days to arrive at their final destination in Poland as they drove in their Hyundai Tucson with all of the pups unaware of all the terror that they would be facing.
