Disney’s first-ever plus-size heroine has reportedly made its debut on people’s television screens.
The company was hailed for putting forward a striking movie about body dysmorphia and choosing a plus-size heroine to send a powerful message across the board.
This is the first time in the company’s history that we are getting to witness something as extreme as this, explained critics. Moreover, the last time such characters actually featured were in roles comprising of villains or even extras. Hence, as you can imagine, all fans were full of nothing but praise for the mega change.
The short film is reportedly titled Reflect and it is said to be following the life story of a young plus-sized dancer named Bianca. She is known to battle her own reflection and overcomes all forms of doubt and fear. In this way, she channels her inner strength, power, as well as grace.
The movie is reportedly directed by the likes of Hillary Bradfield and it happens to be a part of the second series that is titled Short Circuit.
This is just a series of experimental short films and so far, they’ve really hit the target with this one, as confirmed by critics.
So many fans were seen leaving raving reviews while others were reportedly in tears by the end of it. Clearly, it was a historic moment, and that coupled with great animation and screenplay really had people moved by the end.
