Investigators in Alabama made a shocking and terrifying discovery after a 4-year-old child was seen arriving at the hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The accident took place on April 4, 2025, at a residence in Oneonta. It led to the arrest of the child’s parents which including mother Cassandra Lynn Lutz and her husband.
The parents brought the child to the hospital to get treated for two wounds received from a single shot. Staff contacted the authorities, who ended up launching an investigation that ended at the family’s animal-filled residence.
As per reports from WBRC, hospital staff were seen contacting the authorities after Lutz and Corrie brought their son to the emergency room.
There was even one point where Lutz yelled at the kid, ‘this is what happens when you play with guns’- she continued.
Staff were quick to contact the authorities and explain what had taken place. They rolled out an investigation that ended at the family’s residence, which was reportedly filled with bizarre animals.
As per the WBRC, there were deputies who shared that they saw mice, alligators, and more inside. They were shocked at the dozens of animals, some of which were alive and some were dead. Seeing the crocodile in the aquarium is what really startled them.
Wildlife officials were then called to assist, and now an investigation is taking place to determine the family’s purpose of keeping these animals with them inside.
