When it comes to the festive season, the list of classic Christmas tunes is never-ending.
But one couple says they’ve had enough of the ordeal and they’re buying copyrights for a song that they never wish to hear in their lives again. Do you have any guess as to which one it may be?
Wham’s famous track, ‘last Christmas’ is definitely not this couple’s cup of tea. It’s all thanks to the fact that it played continuous rounds at a cafe where one member of the couple worked. And now, they’re doing everything they can to get rid of the song, once and for all.
The price to pay to attain full copyrights is not cheap. But the couple says slow and steady wins the race.
It might be a beloved Christmas classic for some people but it’s definitely not for us, the couple explained. They had giant smirks across their face because they were really ecstatic to learn that some people share the same feelings or sentiments on the subject as them.
“It’s just so wonderful! I don’t know what to say. We knew we had to start a GoFundMe drive because there is no way we could raise all that money alone”- the couple named Tomas and Hannah revealed.
Tomas and Hannah mentioned that they’ve managed to raise nearly $60,000 so far to have the memorable song banished from history books to go. But it’s a long road ahead and they hope to stay as motivated as can be during this time.
“I’ve been hating the tune for the past 13 years or so. There is nothing you or anyone can do to make me fall in love with it, all over again”- she continued.
The news is not going down well with fans who are huge lovers of the track. They find the behavior awfully disrespectful and feel that there are other ways to hate a song like not listening to it or ignoring it. What do you think? Is really worth that much effort for a song?
