Terrifying reports are speaking about 240 skiers being airlifted to safety on Tuesday after a chairlift broke down in the French Alps.
According to reports from local media outlets, the skiers were rushed to safety after the news broke down about them being endangered.
As per local media outlets, a helicopter rushed to evacuate all 240 skiers from the Festoure Chairlift at the popular Superdevoluy resort inside the southern part of the French Alps.
There were no injuries reported during the Christmas Even rescue either.
A statement released by officials on the matter spoke about how an electrical failure inside the engine system is what made it impossible to operate this chairlift at the Superdevoluy report.
All skiers were unharmed in the process but it was a moment of panic for some.
The malfunction arose in the afternoon hours and one skier shared more about their personal experience on social media.
This includes how they were stuck for a good three to four hours but thankfully, help did come after that.
The news comes just days after more than 170 skiers and snowboarders were evacuated using a rope from the ski lift at the American resort. That arose after a crack brought the gondola to a stop mid-air.
