Horrifying reports have confirmed an early morning crash that took place in the South Korean city of Muan where a passenger plane carrying 181 travelers crashed on the airport’s runway before hitting a wall.
The crash landing caused the jet to overshoot the runway and slam into the wall, causing it into a giant fireball explosion.
So far, more than 179 people are presumed dead as the plane skid the runway. The airline identified from initial investigations was a Jeju Air flight that was making its way from Bangkok when the sudden horror unfolded.
Reports from local media outlets also spoke about a possible miracle where two people were miraculously pulled out alive and were a part of the flight’s crew.
Horrifying footage showed the exact moment that the 15-year-old Boeing plane which was a 737-800 model slid across the runway before slamming into a concrete wall and erupting into a giant ball of flames.
The country’s foreign office says the jet’s landing gear seemed to have malfunctioned after a bird struck the aircraft. But these are just the initial reports and many await more news regarding the terrifying accident. The horrific crash is said to be one of the deadliest in the country’s aviation history.
