Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin has been reunited with his on-screen mother as he received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 43-year-old actor met with his on-screen mother Catherine O’Hara as he was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame 33 years after the Christmas classic Home Alone was released.
During the touching ceremony, O’Hara caressed Culkin’s face as she made a speech in which she recalled her first meeting with the former child star.
“Home Alone was, is, and always will be a beloved global sensation … the reason families all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone together is because of Macaulay Culkin,” she said.
Praising the actor for his “perfect” performance, she continued: “I know you worked really hard, I know you did, but you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world to do.”
Making sure no one in attendance was left with a dry eye, O’Hara applauded Culkin for his “sweet and twisted” sense of humor before concluding her speech saying:
“Macaulay, congratulations. You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I’m so proud of you.”
Meanwhile, Culkin broke into tears as he paid tribute to his loved ones, including wife Brenda, for their support.
“I’d like to thank Brenda. You are absolutely everything. You’re my champion. You’re the only person happier for me today than I am,” he said.
“You’re not only the best woman I’ve ever known, you’re the best person I’ve ever known. You’ve given me all my purpose, you’ve given me family. And after the birth of our two boys, you’ve become one of my three favorite people. You’re somewhere in there. I Love you so much.”
Concluding his speech in style, Culkin drew a reference to the classic Christmas movie saying: “Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals.”
