Manchester United’s superstar player David Beckham recently got back from visiting the Queen’s coffin at Westminster Hall.
According to local media outlets, he was deeply acknowledged and praised around the globe for waiting 12 hours in line to visit her Majesty. And that’s despite the fact that he was given the special VIP privilege to skip the line and go in front of thousands of loyal fans of the royal family.
The retired sportsman was seen standing in the extremely long queue on Friday morning to pay his respect to the Queen as she lies in state.
But now, he is going public about a mistake he made while visiting the Queen’s coffin. He revealed the major blunder during an interview that ITV News recently conducted.
According to him, the error was his timing to visit her Majesty’s coffin. He felt that if he arrived in the middle of the night, the line would be shorter as a lot of people would be home by that time.
Clearly, many felt the same as him, and they all ended up arriving at that moment. Hence, that explained the massively long line of citizens standing anxiously to pay their respect.
David Beckham was reportedly caught on live cameras getting extremely emotional as soon as he lay his eyes on the Queen’s casket in the hall. For him, it was unbelievably surreal that she was in there, a woman who selflessly spent years serving the nation.
The sports star wiped his tears, paid his respect, and could be seen walking out. But his face spoke a thousand stories, each proving how loyal of a fan he was to the Royal family.
