Gender row boxer Imane Khelif has reportedly spoken out for the first time since filing a legal case of cyberbullying.
Khelif showed the world what it meant to be an absolute warrior while securing herself a gold medal at this year’s Paris Olympics.
She explained how unfortunate of a situation the entire ordeal turned out to be in regards to her gender. Moreover, she explained how there is a lot of misinformation getting shared about the star’s identity online.
Therefore, she decided to fight back against all the cyberbullying during a recently held news conference that took place. Her lawyer spoke about the horrifying abuse that his client has faced in such a short period for no reason.
He lashed out at a few names from the industry that were presented in the complaint, adding how they were the main instigators of the scenario.
This includes controversial author JK Rowling and tech billionaire Elon Musk. She explained how the bullying needs to stop and for that to happen, such legal complaints must be filed.
She hoped for a positive outcome to the case, explaining how the toxic environment can bring an athlete’s morale down. Furthermore, the Algerian star says it’s about time people stopped showing so much hate because it was not necessary.
