A mother has reportedly broken down in tears after her daughter was denied horse riding lessons because she was autistic.
The mom revealed how painful and heartbreaking it was to see her daughter go back without doing something that she had been anticipating for a long time and that was riding horses.
“They kept on telling me how her autism was too bad for an animal like a horse and for that reason, they wouldn’t be allowing her to get on it, anytime soon or maybe ever again”- she continued.
The horse riding institution is now being called out by so many others who felt that their call was totally unjustified and failed to make much sense.
Sources revealed how Sychdyn Riding School which happens to be located in Flintshire had turned the young girl.
“They kept on saying that they needed to take everyone’s safety into consideration and therefore it was a risky decision to allow her to ride the horses present”- the mother elaborated.
This case is a painful reminder that children with disability are still not given the same rights and freedom as others and it’s sad to see such incidents taking place like that in today’s time.
“Her dad said that she might get excited when she sees the horses and that’s probably what made them behave in this way”- the mother believes.
The mother was appalled to see how so many of the staff members at the riding institution kept on asking her how bad the autism was and every time they did, it became more and more painful.
Hence, she tried to school them on how her condition was anything but bad. She was just a little different from others her age but it was nothing bad, adding how she just wished to give her daughter some joy in life.
But the more she insisted, the more she got shot down and in the end, it was best for her to leave with a broken heart.
