America has officially welcomed its first black woman to the high court after a historic Senate vote.
According to local media reports, 51-year-old Kentanji Brown Jackson is a federal who can now be hailed as the country’s appeals court judge. She will reportedly have the honor of being America’s first black female to have a position on the high court, as well as being the third black judge.
Sources revealed how Jackson has reportedly replaced Justice Stephen Breyer. The 83-year-old is reported to have faced extreme pressure from the progressive side to step down and allow a younger individual to step in.
Meanwhile, other sources spoke about how the country’s Senate Judiciary Committee has now aggressively interrogated Jackson in relation to her sentencing record, where the due emphasis was made on her ‘child p*rn cases’.
The Senate paved way for the historic change with a smashing 53-47 vote victory that came in on Thursday, confirming Brown’s entry.
All three Republicans voted, along with all the Democrats for change.
US President Joe Biden could be seen embracing the winner who achieved her position with a bipartisan victory.
Meanwhile, US Vice President Kamala Harris was also seen at the Senate and decided to celebrate the major win by banging the gavel that declared the vote count in the end. This was another way to seal the final voting count that made Brown the ultimate winner.
All Democrats were seen breaking out in massive applause as it was a historic win, by all means.
The President closely monitored the voting tally in the White House’s Roosevelt Room.
Viral pictures of the president holding hands with the winner and hugging her tightly made the rounds on social media as the final nomination came into play.
