Jada Pinkett took her fans by surprise as she unveiled a brand-new look and revealed that her hair is starting to grow back.
The 51-year-old actress, who has been suffering from alopecia, had been proudly rocking her bald head in recent years after publicly opening up about her autoimmune condition.
Now, however, major changes seem to be in the works.
“This here hair is act’n like it’s try’na make a comeback. Still have some trouble spots but — we’ll see,” Pinkett wrote as she shared a photo of her growing bleached locks.
The new look comes as the actress announced her upcoming memoir – Worthy – which will hit the shelves in October this year.
The Matrix Reloaded star previously opened up about her condition and revealed that she was left paralyzed with fear after losing a handful of hair during her shower one day.
“I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, ‘Oh my god, am I going bald?’ It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear. That’s why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it,” she admitted.
“My hair has been a big part of me. Taking care of my hair has been a beautiful ritual and having the choice to have hair or not. And then one day to be like, ‘Oh my god, I might not have that choice anymore.’”
Though it wasn’t easy for her to accept the sudden changes, Pinkett eventually came to terms with her condition and look back on it with a laugh on her face.
“Now at this point, I can only laugh. Y’all know I’ve been struggling with alopecia and just all of a sudden one day, look at this line right here. Look at that,” she added.
