Jamie Foxx has spoken out after being hospitalized for three weeks over a medical emergency.
The 55-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital back in April after suffering an undisclosed medical emergency according to sources close to his family.
“They are running tests and still trying to figure out what exactly happened,” a source previously told CNN as it was confirmed that Foxx remains in the hospital for observation and testing.
Now, the Hollywood star himself has spoken out and said he was feeling blessed despite his recent health issues.
“Appreciate all the love!!! feeling blessed,” the actor wrote along with emojis depicting a heart and praying hands.
While Foxx remains hospitalized at a facility in Atlanta, Georgia, his upcoming film Back in Action has resumed filming.
The actor also took the opportunity to give a shout-out to Nick Cannon who temporarily replaced him as the host on Beat Shazam so that the beloved game show could go on in his absence.
“Appreciate ya my boy @nickcannon, see you all soon,” Foxx said.
The good news comes just days after a source told People that the actor was in recovery and that he was awake and alert.
“He’s OK, thank God. He’s still in the hospital and doctors are running tests but he’s awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation,” the insider said.
While sources repeatedly spoke out about the actor’s condition, Foxx’s family has remained relatively silent after his daughter’s initial statement.
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” daughter Corinne said in a statement after her dad’s health scare.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
