Terrifying reports have confirmed a tragedy that took place at Japan’s Haneda Airport today.
According to reports from local media outlets, a Japan Airlines passenger jet reportedly erupted into a ball of flames after touching the runways while landing.
The aircraft erupted into a giant ball of flames after landing this morning in Tokyo and shocking footage captured the bright orange flames that engulfed the whole aircraft.
Emergency vehicles were seen racing against time along the tarmac to deal with the pulsing inferno after the flight reportedly collided with a Japanese Coast Guard aircraft.
A total of 379 passengers were on board the flight and miraculously were able to leave the incident with no deaths reported so far from that aircraft.
Thick plumes of smoke filled the air and it took a while before the fire was extinguished by those racing against the clock to put out the flame.
A total of 22 passengers have been reported as sustaining injuries and therefore were treated immediately.On the other hand. all five members of the Coast Guard aircraft were killed while the pilot of that jet was shifted to a nearby hospital and is said to be in critical condition.
Passengers were seen running for their lives after disembarking the plane as it was a moment of panic for everyone at the scene. They were informed that they just had a few minutes to evacuate.
The Coast Guard aircraft was carrying aid that was supposed to be distributed at various places in the country that were recently struck by a powerful earthquake that arose yesterday.
The flight was highlighted as JAL 516 which took off from Hokkaido with 379 passengers onboard. Now, all runways at the busy airport have been shut. One witness claimed he saw the plane explode in front of him and it was the most awful and heartbreaking thing he had ever come across in his life.
Investigations into the incident are currently taking place in terms of how the control tower gave the plane permission to land when another jet was active on the runway in the same location.
