Miss Japan 2024 has been crowned and while it may be a victory for some, the news has sparked a major online debate.
In most cases, you’re supposed to be part of the country to represent them but in this case, that’s not true. We’ve got a model that belongs to Ukrainian descent and getting this great chance.
People were so quick to add how she needed to have her crown removed because it did not make sense. “I mean who even thinks about that? It’s almost as if they are doing something without even thinking and that’s not cool”- another enraged fan mentioned.
Some just had a very tough time trying to figure out on what basis was she even allowed to compete when she did not have any Japanese features or a resemblance that entails the Japanese population.
This victory has sparked serious skepticism after she won the title of Miss Japan as now, people are signing a new petition to have her ousted immediately.
She was only 5 when her mom decided to remarry another individual. This led her to become the first naturalized Japanese citizen to win the Miss Japan Grand Prix Tournament.
But even the winner is having a hard time understanding why people are getting so upset over her win. She feels it’s just uncalled for and the necessary drama does not need to happen.
Despite the fact that she calls herself Japanese in her mind, knowing very well that she does not look or behave like those in the country, the debate seems to be getting worse with every passing day.
