Jay Leno paid a visit to the medics who treated him for burns and thanked them with cookies and thank you cards.
The 72-year-old actor, comedian, and TV host was hospitalized with severe burns after his 1907 steam engine car erupted in flames.
While the actor may be left with some permanent scarring after the incident, he was since discharged from the hospital to continue his recovery at home.
The former Tonight Show host, however, didn’t rest for long, whereas he soon returned to the hospital where he was treated to thank the staff who looked after him.
In pictures taken by DailyMail.com, the actor is seen carrying a cartoon box containing what appears to be gift bags with thank-you cards and letters inside.
In other photos, he is also seen carrying a box of cookies accompanied by a thank you note.
Though the scars on his arms are still fresh, the comedian appeared to be in a good mood as he took the gifts to Grossman Burn Center in his blue Tesla.
The news comes shortly after Leno’s surgeon, Dr. Peter Grossman, warned that permanent scarring on the actor’s upper body including arms is a very likely outcome of the incident.
“He’s got a very strong attitude. He’s a very strong individual,” Dr. Grossman told ET.
“And he’s a person who really is looking to move forward, to try to find a way to get past this episode of his life and to get back to what he normally likes to do, which is to be out there and entertain and be with the people.
“I think at some point soon he’ll get there, but I’ve had to tell him that, for the time being, he needs to sit back and take care of Jay.”
