Jennifer Aniston was reportedly “knocked off her feet” and is struggling after the sudden death of her former co-star and friend Matthew Perry.
The 54-year-old actor and comedian sent the world in mourning with his sudden and unexpected death on October 28 when he was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his home.
A source now told PageSix that Matt’s former Friends co-star, who was closest among the cast to the actor, is “struggling” to come to terms with what had happened.
“Out of the remaining five, Jen and Courtney [Cox] are reeling the most, and Jen is probably the one who is struggling most acutely,” an insider revealed, Page Six reported.
“It’s a second massive loss in less than a year, with the one-year anniversary of her dad’s death just around the corner. She still hasn’t fully regained her footing from that, and now this has just completely knocked her off her feet.”
The source went on to say that despite doing her best to recover, Jennifer suffered a “completely devastating blow upon learning about Matthew’s fate.
Previously, Matthew gushed over Aniston as he praised her for always being there for him and for calling him out during his problems with addiction.
Speaking to Diane Sawyer of ABC in 2022, Perry admitted the Rachel Green star “was the one that reached out the most.”
“You know, I’m really grateful to her for that,” he said.
Perry also revealed Aniston was the first member of the cast to confront him over his drug and alcohol issues.
“She said ‘we know you’re drinking.’ Yeah, imagine how scary a moment that was. I should have been the toast of the town, but I was in a dark room meeting with nothing but drug dealers and completely alone,” he added.
