Mama June’s daughter Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell got married in secret just months before her tragic passing.
The 29-year-old succumbed to adrenal cancer on Saturday night, less than one year after she was diagnosed with the unforgiving disease.
In January this year, Anna, who was a mother to Kylee, 8, and Kaitlyn, 11, was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal cancel following bouts of stomach pain. Despite immediate treatment, the disease could not be mitigated and her family revealed in the summer that the cancer had spread.
On the night of December 9, the 29-year-old mom of two tragically passed away, her mother, reality star Mama June, announced on Sunday.
It was now revealed that Anna secretly got married to her partner Eldridge Toney shortly after learning she had stage 4 cancer.
TMZ revealed that the pair tied the knot in Wilkinson County, Georgia, on March 4 while she was still undergoing chemotherapy.
The emotional ceremony was officiated by her sister Pumpkin’s husband, whereas a filming crew was hired to shoot content for Mama June: From Not to Hot.
The ceremony was attended by Anna’s close relatives and friends.
This comes just days after Mama June broke the sad news and paid a heartfelt tribute to her daughter.
“With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM,” she wrote.
“She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won’t and we will be updating y’all with more information as we get it today.
“We love y’all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family [during] this difficult time.”
