A GoFundMe page has been created for Kanye West to help the rapper regain his billionaire status after it was previously reported that he lost partnerships with Gap and Adidas.
But many people have quickly responded to the post and created pages of their own to make themselves billionaires instead of the artist.
This all started when a GoFundMe page titled ‘Make Kanye West a billionaire again’ was created to help Ye get back his billionaire status.
The page was immediately removed presumably because of violations of the terms of service but the crowdfunding effort also did not raise enough before meeting its end.
While it may not have accumulated enough money, it did attract attention online as many people shared screenshots of it and many news outlets reported it.
Others also responded by creating pages of their own asking generous users to donate money to make them billionaires instead of the rapper, with the most successful one receiving $40 so far.
This comes after Kanye lost $2 billion in just a day as many companies continue to cut ties with him following his anti-Semitic comments on social media.
His fortune continues to collapse as Adidas removed his $1.5 billion Yeezy shoe line – with TJ Maxx, Balenciaga, Footlocker and Gap following suit.
He was also embarrassingly kicked out of Skechers headquarters on Wednesday after he suddenly showed up to pitch his Yeezy brand.
In a statement, Skechers said: “Considering Ye was engaged in unauthorized filming, two Skechers executives escorted him and his party from the building after a brief conversation.
“Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West.”
“We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate anti-Semitism or any other form of hate speech. The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices.”
