The Princess of Wales has delivered a heartfelt message to fellow cancer sufferers after she revealed in a brave video address that she has been diagnosed with cancer.
Kate thanked the public for their love and support and said that her husband, Prince William, was a ‘great source of comfort and reassurance.’
In her address to the nation, the future Queen also told fellow cancer sufferers: “Please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”
Kate described the past few months as ‘tough’ for their family but said that she is also grateful for her ‘fantastic medical team.’
In her video, she revealed that tests following her major abdominal surgery found cancer had been present and that she is currently undergoing a course of preventive chemotherapy.
“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she expressed.
The Princess also said that it took her some time to recover from a major surgery before starting her treatment.
“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both,” she expressed.
Kate concluded her statement with a message of hope to fellow cancer sufferers. She told them: “For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”
