Kathy Griffin has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Randy Bick just days before their fourth wedding anniversary.
The American actress and comedian, 63, tied the knot with the ‘Grannie’ and ‘Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story’ star back on January 1, 2020.
Now, just days before their fourth wedding anniversary, the couple confirmed their split with Griffin filing for divorce in Los Angeles County.
In the filed papers, the comedian cited irreconcilable differences for their break-up.
The documents also confirm that the pair has a prenuptial agreement signed on December 23, 2019, just over a week prior to their wedding.
According to People, Griffin requested for the prenuptial agreement to be enforced and for the ability to grant alimony to either party to be terminated.
After the news began circulating the internet, Griffin commented on the matter with a very simple statement saying: “Well… sh*t. This s*cks.”
Prior to their wedding on New Year’s Day in 2020, Griffin and Bick dated for seven years from 2011 to 2018. That’s when their romance ran into trouble and took a short break before the pair found their way back to each other.
“And now, we just came to the decision that, we’ve really been through so much together. We’ve now been together over eight years,” Griffin said in 2019.
“Even though he’s 19 years younger, we both turned to each other and realized, this is the longest relationship for both of us, you know? We should fight for it and make it work. And you know, it was just one of those things where, it was a lot of pressure.”
