The celebrity didn’t waste a minute before reaching for the exit and taking the next flight back home to be with her loved ones after the news.
The actress says her heart is broken as she thanked her fans for the immense level of support and outpouring of love during this difficult time.
The star’s departure from the event was announced by Babygirl director Halina Reijin who accepted the honor for best actress award on the star’s behalf after the movie won big on Saturday.
Nicole shared through a written statement mentioned online that she made it to the city of Venice but after arriving at the event, she broke down into tears after hearing the devastating news.
She referred to her mom as the strongest and most beautiful and brave mother that she had ever come across.
“I am in so much shock and pain but I have to go to my family. Thank you all for your support and love always”- the star posted on her account on social media.
She also dedicated the award to her mother who shaped her, guided her, and made her who she is today.
