King Charles III got furious while trying to sign a book after he was given a leaking pen only hours after he was met with roars of approval by the people of Belfast.
The new monarch was inside the royal residence of Hillsborough Castle and trying to sign a book when he complained about the leaking pen he was using to sign his name.
He then furiously rubbed the ink from his fingers and announced that he “can’t bear this bloody thing.”
Camilla, the Queen Consort, immediately asked for a replacement as her husband angrily left the room.
Aides then replaced the leaking pen before Camilla sat down and signed the book herself.
This comes only days after spectators of Charles’ accession to the throne found themselves uncomfortable when the King furiously gestured to one of his aides to get rid of a pot of ink.
The video starts with the new monarch asking what the date was as he gets ready to sign a book in front of cameras.
But his mood change as the pen starts to malfunction. He then exclaimed: “God I hate this (pen)” as he gave it to the Queen Consort.
“I can’t bear this thing… every stinking time,” he added.
The King and the Queen Consort were visiting Northern Ireland as part of his royal tour of the United Kingdom in the wake of his mother Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
He and Camilla were greeted with open arms by the people of Belfast. Their trip started with loud chants of ‘God Save the King’ as they came out of their BMW to meet the crowds.
