King Charles is ready to strip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s titles should their bombshell memoir and Netflix series be damaging to the Royal Family, a royal expert claimed.
The new monarch would also extend the ban to Prince Harry and Meghan’s children, Archie and Lilibet, even though the late Queen refused to take that drastic step when she was still alive.
Royal author Tom Bower says he believes the former actress won’t let their royal titles be removed.
Mr. Bower, who spoke to family associates and courtiers in the last couple of years, detailed the fragile relations between senior royals after their reunion at the Queen’s funeral in September.
He said that King Charles made great efforts to ‘diffuse’ the issue instead of removing the Sussex’s titles.
“He has made various threats to Meghan and Harry and warned that them if they go ahead they will find themselves ostracized in a way they cannot believe. And so they are worried,” the author said.
“First of all, I do not think their children will get titles if they go ahead and slander the Royal Family,” Mr. Bower went on.
“But they have also got to consider their own titles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, could be taken away by Charles if they misbehave.”
The author claimed that the removal of titles is something the Harry and Meghan are worried about as every time the Suits star introduces herself, she always says: “I am Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.”
