Kyle Rittenhouse took a jab at LeBron James after the basketball star mocked his tearful testimony.
The 18-year-old acquitted Kenosha shooter dramatically broke into tears when he delivered his testimony during his trial last month.
Not everyone, however, was convinced that his tears were real, with many accusing the young man of fake-crying to invoke sympathy from the jury.
Among Rittenhouse’s critics was also NBA star LeBron James who mocked the teen’s testimony while the trial was still taking place.
“What tears? I didn’t see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court,” the athlete tweeted.
Now, Rittenhouse appeared to fight back against his critic by throwing the F word at him in return.
“I was really p****d off when he said that because I liked LeBron, and then I’m like, you know what, f*** you, LeBron,” Kyle said during his ‘You Are Here’ podcast appearance.
Taking a swipe at the basketball player was also host Sydney Watson who added: “You have to give the man credit. It took all four of his brain cells to construct that tweet.”
As Rittenhouse suggested, he used to be a big Lakers fan prior to LeBron’s controversial comment about his testimony.
LeBron, however, wasn’t the only one to question the authenticity of Rittenhouse’s tears during his trial.
“Bad acting coach, crocodile tears — but perfect for Judge to give Rittenhouse a stern slap on the wrist & proclaim justice done. Ain’t that America?” Deadline editor Dominic Patten previously wrote.
“This is how the first take of a crying scene can look. Weeks of anxiety to push the tears out and you come up empty,” Gossip Girl star Kevin Zegers suggested.
Blacklist writer Pat Cunnane wrote: “I don’t know if Kyle Rittenhouse was fake crying. I do know that he crossed state lines and shot three people, killing two of them. I also know that if he weren’t white, he’d probably wouldn’t be on trial. Because he’d be dead.”
“The judge in Kenosha, WI and the defense attorney in Glynn County, GA are doing a good job of showing why we DO need to examine systemic racism in our legal institutions – which is what critical race theory actually is about,” Star Trek star George Takei added.
“If you want to see how justice often leans hard toward privilege, watch the judge in the Rittenhouse case. A deplorable example, indeed.”
