Russian forces suffered a major blow today after a giant Russian landing ship was destroyed by Ukraine’s forces.
According to local media reports, a huge ball of flames was witnessed with so much smoke seen arising from Berdyansk recently as authorities in Ukraine confirmed the ship’s destruction.
The ship was docked at a Ukrainian port that had been captured by Russian forces. But little did Putin and his men know that a mistake by Russian state media that disclosed the ship’s location would end up costing them in the end.
Kyiv’s navy was quick to note down the victory which they believe is a major blow for Russia as the ship contained plenty of new armored vehicles.
The ship was identified as the Orsk, which is nearly 370 feet big and is considered to be an Alligator-class landing ship that belongs to Russia.
This is now being termed as the largest vessel to have been destroyed by Ukraine since the war started in February and another major and embarrassing loss for Putin and the entire Kremlin.
It is still not clear how or why Russian state media was able to disclose the ship’s exact location, just a few days earlier, as it was captured on video footage as it tried to unload so many armored vehicles to be used during the conflict.
Multiple pictures from the major catastrophe were released that showed how the ship began emitting thick smoke while sitting at the harbor. There were two other vessels parked in close proximity which were later seen sailing away as they tried to make a quick escape from the scene of misery.
The Orsk was believed to be a valuable source for Russia during the war as it would assist in reinforcing troops that were located at a nearby distance in Mariupol.
