105-Year-Old Woman Graduates From Stanford University ‘83 Years’ After Leaving Campus


One woman is making heads turn after returning to her Stanford University campus to attain her graduate degree.

The 105-year-old woman who goes by the name of Virginia Hislop mentioned how she graduated from the Palo Alto University campus a couple of weeks back with a master’s degree.

She mentioned how she was so excited about the big event coming to life that she didn’t even worry about what to say during the graduation speech.

For her, just being able to get this honor was a huge ordeal. Her journey dates back to 1936 when she first enrolled.

She got her bachelor’s degree in education in the year 1940 but remained there to pursue a graduate degree while she was teaching as mentioned on the website.

But her dreams were shattered by love and war, including the arrival of World War II. She knew that getting her degree would now be impossible.

‘I completed my coursework and was preparing to submit my final thesis. I was all set to get married too but just so many events happened that in the end, I had to leave my educational dreams and walk away without my degree’- she added.

But so many years later, she did contact that university and met with the admin who verified her records. And thankfully, it all worked so well in her favor.
