LeBron James has broken his silence after his teenage son suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest.
Earlier this week, on Monday, 18-year-old basketball protégé Bronny James collapsed without a warning during a University of Southern California practice at the Galen Center arena in Los Angeles.
After the young man was rushed to the hospital, it was confirmed that he suffered a cardiac arrest and that he was in recovery over his health scare.
Now, the teenager’s devastated father, NBA icon LeBron James, finally broke his silence and shared an update with his fans.
“I want to thank the countless people sending my family love and prayers. We feel you and I’m so grateful. Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love,” he wrote in a Twitter statement.
“Will have more to say when we’re ready but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us! #JamesGang.”
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the 18-year-old is already doing much better and that a full recovery is very much possible.
The update comes days after the James family revealed the devastating news via a spokesperson.
“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU,” they said.
“We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.
“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”
