A 95-year-old woman was seen battling for her life after a cop tasered her at a nursing home.
Sources from local media outlets claim the heartbreaking incident left her in a state of medical emergency and that meant she had to be rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated.
The horrifying ordeal took place at a nursing home located in Australia and the video of the incident has gone viral as we speak.
Meanwhile, the authorities tried to justify the shocking behavior by claiming she was in possession of wielding a knife and they had to do something about that before it was too late.
“It should not be this way. She was an elderly citizen who deserved to be treated better”- the victim’s family has revealed.
The exact location where the tragedy ensued was Yallambee Lodge which happens to be a nursing home that’s dedicated to elderly individuals in New South Wales, Australia.
Clare Nowland is a resident of the nursing home for a while now and happened to be suffering from a disease called dementia. She was reported as being spotted holding a knife and that led to an urgent call to the cops to arrive and take the matter into their own hands.
“She was aiming the knife at the care staff here. They had no choice but to do this”- mentioned another officer from the police squad that happened to be present during the incident.
The police happened to be called to the location as nursing staff tried to disarm the woman but failed at doing so. They had to resort to tasering her but were not aware of the consequences that would soon be affecting her health.
The latest update on her case has to do with her family being by her side as the mom of eight continues to be in a critical state after the terrifying ordeal.
