The world of Hollywood can be awfully unforgiving at certain times and that’s especially too when it comes down to fashion looks being served at leading Red Carpet events.
The perfect example goes out to actress Katie Holmes who appeared anything but ravishing on the Red Carpet while donning a very somber and casual appearing outfit.
It was a look that many felt was so last decade and that’s when fashion critics began to troll and severely bash her personal stylist for failing to give the stunner a look that suited her caliber.
The stylist named Brie Welch came under fire as the look went viral and became known as the Y2K appeal. But nobody could relate to the justification her stylist offered and began to dub it as the lamest excuse they’ve ever heard over time.
So what exactly did that look comprise? Well, it was super underwhelming and featured a pair of baggy blue jeans and a long tunic.
A recently conducted interview featuring The New York Times had Welch explaining more about her look for the Jingle Ball which was supposed to be Katie’s moment to shine and not suffer from the words of so many who felt she looked mediocre at best.
Welch says that she really wanted to return that youthful appeal that Holmes was famous for but others slammed that as the poorest justification ever provided by anyone in the fashion fraternity.
She continue to add how the tones used were rich and the bustier for the top was kept subtle with elegant detailing. But no matter how much justification she gave, it became so much worse for her as people just were not buying it.
Do you think the outfit provided to the celeb for the Jingle Ball Event did her justice or not? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section and SHARE the story with others too.
