The fourth Baltimore Bridge builder’s body was pulled out from the river late last night as confirmed by local authorities.
Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes was only 36 and believed to hail from Mexico. He was a part of the team of six construction workers who plunged to their deaths during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
His remains were found by a team of divers taking part in a search and recovery mission after the Coast Guard confirmed that there was no chance of anyone being alive in such freezing temperatures.
The news comes after three of his other colleagues were found inside a submerged pickup truck that plunged 25 feet ago. As soon as the news broke out, his loved ones were informed about the heartbreaking finding, leaving his mother with no choice but to mourn her beloved son.
“I wish I told him that I love him so much, one last time”- she added. He was said to be a loving father to two beautiful children. The incident arose when a giant shipping vessel slammed into the bridge after losing control despite calls for Mayday and orders to have the vessel turned around.
Investigations are still taking place on this front as many try to figure out what exactly led to the devastation and mass causality event.
