As the drama from the famous Oscars slap continues, new reports are going as far as suggesting how actor Will Smith once made a startling vow to his wife.
According to local media reports, Will Smith is said to have promised his wife Jada Pinkett Smith that he would never resort to profanity or violence in the couple’s marriage.
Now, the reports of the vow are resurfacing as the couple’s marriage and the relationship appear to be a trending topic online.
The renowned actor made the pact with his wife in 2018 during a viral episode of ‘Red Table Talk’. This is where he remembered a particular moment where he spoke about how he had no choice but to pull his wife aside and tell her that he didn’t appreciate it when she told him to shut the f**k up in front of the couple’s 20 or so party guests.
Will Smith remembered how he took a newspaper and slightly tapped it over his wife’s head and said ‘Pow’! And moments later, he took her into a separate room, with her permission, and told her something personal.
The celeb shared a personal story about his family with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith where he sat her down and told her where he came from.
“I always grew up in a home where I saw my father punch my mother in the face and I have no intention of creating a space, home, or interaction with any person that had violence or profanity attached”- he continued.
In addition to that, the actor shed light on how he had no intention of being in a relationship where if she talked to him like that, he simply wouldn’t be able to carry on with the marriage because there was no room for profanity in interactions.
“We will not raise our voice or be violent because I simply can’t take it”- he concluded.
