A former friend of the woman who claimed to be missing Madeleine McCann has spoken out and shared shocking details about her past.
Julia Wendell, 21, sparked fresh interest in the disappearance of Maddie McCann who went missing at the age of three back in 2007 while vacationing in Portugal with her parents.
As Julia claimed, her resemblance to the missing child – including the same eye defect – made her think she was Maddie even though her mother in Poland strongly denied all claims suggesting Julia wasn’t her biological daughter.
It was since revealed that Julia’s mother, Dorota, is furious about all the publicity her daughter had brought to her family’s name.
As for Julia, she returned to Poland after having a chat with Dr. Phil and receiving the DNA results confirming she is not Madeleine McCann.
Now, a former friend of Julia, who attended the same private school as the young woman, made a series of shocking allegations as they revealed that Julia pretended to be a missing child on other occasions in the past.
“Julia was around seven when she moved to Wroclaw with her mum and she started at the private school but she then switched to the local primary school as she couldn’t settle down,” the source said, MailOnline revealed.
“She was very mixed up and as she went through school she decided she wanted to be a singer and then a model but none of this happened and she became very depressed and angry.”
The insider continued: “What is happening now isn’t exactly new. When she was in her mid-teens she started to say that Dorota wasn’t her mother and that she was really a child who had gone missing in Poland a few years earlier.
“It was so sad to see as you could tell Dorota loved her and she just wanted the best for her – she rebelled and left home and started seeing a guy who was a drug addict and that didn’t help her.”
According to the ex-friend of Julia, they eventually lost contact with the girl only to learn that she was “back at it again and saying that she was really Madeleine McCann” shortly after her other story was debunked.
