Madonna was rushed to the hospital after suffering a medical emergency that left her unresponsive.
The 64-year-old Queen of Pop was reportedly “rushed to hospital and intubated” after she was found “unresponsive” in her New York home last Saturday.
Following the singer’s sudden hospitalization, the Like a Virgin hitmaker remained in the ICU for several days. Her manager, Guy Oseary, now confirmed that Madonna was brought to her knees by a “serious bacterial infection.”
According to Oseary, the medical emergency not only landed Madonna in the hospital but also forced the singer and her team to delay her 40th-anniversary tour.
Despite the grim news, the popstar’s longtime manager insisted that her health is “improving” and that she is “expected to make a full recovery.”
As of this writing, however, Madonna allegedly remains under full medical care.
The news of Madonna’s hospitalization was first broken by Page Six as the publication revealed the singer was taken to the ICU and intubated overnight on Saturday – just three weeks before she was set to kick off her tour.
“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU,” Oseary revealed in a Wednesday statement.
“Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”
The manager added: “At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.”
A DailyMail.com source has since also spoken out and told the publication that Madonna is already out of the ICU but still recovering at the hospital under the care of her medical team.
