Surprising new data and statistics have gone on to reveal how Johnny Depp’s popularity has suffered after the conclusion of his defamation trial.
According to local media reports, the famous celeb’s popularity took a major dip in terms of favorability among the US adult population.
After a dramatic trial with plenty of people’s emotions running high, we saw the jury announce the verdict and it all went in Johnny Depp’s favor. His former partner was ordered to pay $8 million in defamation charges as the jury sided with the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
During this whole time, so many people spoke about the massive amount of support and respect they had for the actor, who many believed stayed quiet for so many years as his career took a downwards turn.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that he received an overwhelming amount of love and popularity while the trial was taking place and social media was full of all praise for Depp and all hate for Heard.
During the trial, it was as if a new picture of the great popularity of the star had been painted but now, new data is revealing otherwise, ever since the trial had come to an end.
It’s all thanks to stats that was recently highlighted by the Morning Consult- a known data collection firm. They shed light on how Depp’s popularity fell, especially when it came down to men and baby boomer audiences.
In April, Depp’s popularity was 68% but by the time June had arrived, it fell to 56%. But thankfully, the great popularity that the celeb has with his younger fans continued to remain the same. And that was a relief for many hardcore Depp fans.
Millennials were seen following a similar trend with only a slight fall from what we saw in April to June. Moreover, it was interesting to see how the popularity fell greatly among Democrats as compared to Republicans but we’re not quite sure why.
